Transdisciplinary Therapeutic Education (TTE™) Training
This therapeutic education training brings together medicine, psychology and education. Learn remedial approaches for children in Waldorf public and independent schools. This course is designed for Waldorf Class Teachers, Remedial and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists and School Administrators. Must have completed Waldorf Teacher Training to enroll or provide evidence of foundational understandings of Steiner’s view of the human being and anthroposophical insights.
When and Where does it begin?
The first introductory/exploratory session for the TTE™ Therapeutic Training will begin in the Summer of 2018. It will overlap with the 2nd week of the Teacher Training in Holladay, Utah, July 1st (Sunday afternoon registration) through July 6th, 2018.
What can I expect in the training?
Instructor and Department Chair, Bonnie River will begin this professional development session with an introduction to what will become the Therapeutic Training. This first week (July 2–6th, 2018) will form the foundation of the TTE™ training. Anyone interested in joining this training or with questions about its content should contact the Executive Director of Gradalis at www.gradalisconsulting.com . Expect to connect with other Waldorf teachers interested in looking more deeply at the children we teach. Learn to observe children from different perspectives with anthroposophical insights that can assist in meeting children’s needs. On-going mentoring with individual students (candidate-teachers) takes place throughout the school year. Enjoy teacher renewal with eurythmy, the arts and music amidst the training sessions during this training. Faculty will include Bonnie River, an anthroposophical doctor, arts instructors, and other master teachers in this realm of therapeutic work.
History of the training?
Bonnie River & William Bento designed and completed the first TTE™ Training cohort in the early 1990s in Boulder, Colorado. Many graduates of the TTE™ Training are still working teachers within the Waldorf movement. This valued training addresses the needs independent and public Waldorf schools face today with more and more children coming to our schools with special and unique needs.
How Long is the Transdisciplinary (Remedial) Therapeutic Education (TTE™) Training?
38 months. It includes 3 school years and 4 summers. The first cohort introduction begins Summer 2018. Includes mentoring throughout the school year with real-life applications. Cost is currently being assessed and will be announced by December 1, 2017.
